Cavell Nurses’ Trust

Cavell Nurses' Trust runs the Cavell Star Awards programme.

We are also the charity that supports UK nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants, both working and retired, when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship often due to illness, disability, domestic abuse and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

And we transform the lives of nurses and midwives. The nursing and midwifery professionals we help say they’re often happier, healthier and able to stay in or return to work.

John Orchard, Chief Executive of Cavell Nurses’ Trust explains why the Cavell Star Awards are so important to our work,

“At some point in your life you’ll benefit from the care and compassion of a nurse, midwife or healthcare assistant. They bring our children into the world, they care for us in our hour of need and give comfort at the end of our lives.

"Nurses and midwives are incredible people and we feel they should know that. A Cavell Star Award is a way for nurses and midiwves to say thank you to colleagues who have gone the extra mile to take care of their team, their patients or their patients’ families. I am incredibly grateful to the Cavell Star Awards partner and sponsors for ensuring that so many UK nurses and midwives can be recognised in this way.”
